HURRICANE WING BUILD CONTINUED

Hurricane wing build continued

Wing build continued – Making the skins, the rivet hole positions are mapped out manually again from drawings and pilot drilled in the structure, the sheet metal is then clamped in place and holes are back-drilled through from the structure into the skin, cleco and skin pins are then used to hold the skin in place. Original production would have used pre-drilled and cut sheets, all made to jigs.
